The wine shop at Riedingerhof has been a slow process, as natural as possible, like the wine Hansi is producing.
After our first visit in his winery we could touch and feel his immense passion and get a bit into the natural wine production. As we discovered his wine is produced in Terracotta Amphorae we decided to abandon the idea of using oak, as a common material to combine to wine. We decided to show to the exterior what in his magic spaces is happening, and terracotta become the main material, the main character.
The design and the selection of the materials and structure followed researches and problem solving solutions. Eight bigs movable walls are created with Mutina bricks and mounted on metal frames that allowes to hold the weitgh but still able to move in order to play with the space. A central counter is decorated with a different brick type to show the different wines and stories of Riedingerhof, similarities but differences.
Some Oak wood could be excluded at all, so a furniture piece and different shelfs are completing the space in order to have where to place the bottles to be displayed as the glasses where to drink it!
If you are wine or design lover, add this place in your favourite list and drop by when you can :)
